The USB 3.0 Docking Station greatly increases the number of ports available on your device from a single USB-A 3.0 port. This incredibly powerful dock provides DisplayPort, HDMI 1.3, 3.5mm combo jack (audio/microphone), Gigabit Ethernet (RJ45), and 3 USB-A 3.0 connections. The dock is compatible with any device running Windows 7 or newer, or Mac OS 10.6 through 10.11.

USB 3.0 to DisplayPort and HDMI Video Adapter

Expand your screen real estate with up to two high definition monitors/TV’s, supporting up to 2048x1152@60Hz through each display. If you only connect one external display, this docking station delivers up to 3840x2160@30Hz through DisplayPort or 2560x1440@50Hz through HDMI.

 

USB 3.0 with Battery Charging 1.2

The docking station also provides 3x USB 3.0 ports, enabling data transfer at 5Gbps SuperSpeed and USB charging at 900mA. One of the USB-A 3.0 ports is Battery Charging 1.2 (BC 1.2) enabled, supporting up to 1.5A of power throughput for rapid charging.

 The docking station provides 3 USB 3.0 ports, one headphone/mic jack, and a LED power indicator

Gigabit Ethernet and 3.5mm Audio/Microphone

In addition to the dual monitor HD video processor and 3x USB 3.0 ports, the docking station also enables Gigabit Ethernet through the RJ45 port and headsets through the 3.5mm combo jack (audio and microphone).

Will I need to update my drivers on my computer for the Displayport?

How do I connect the dock to my laptop?
The dock comes with a 2ft USB-A to USB-B 3.0 Cable (Male to Male) and a 2ft USB-B to USB-C 3.0 cable that will connect your laptop to the dock.

Does the dock support 4K?
Yes. Only on the DisplayPort connection - single display resolution up to 4K (3840x2160).

How many monitors can be plugged in to the dock?
The dock supports 2 external monitors.

What connection types are supported for video?
The dock has 1 HDMI and 1 Displayport for video connections.

What resolutions does the dock support for external monitors?
DisplayPort single display resolution: 3840x2160 @ 30Hz HDMI single display resolution: 2560x1440 @ 50Hz Dual display resolution: 2048x1152 @ 60Hz

Can the dock allow my monitors to be extended on a Windows PC?
Yes. The default when first using the dock is mirrored. The display settings will need to be changed within the Windows Display settings for the extended mode.

Can the dock allow my monitors to be extended on a MAC?
No. Since the MAC OS does not support MST (Multi Stream Technology) it can only mirror your screens.

Is there a way to convert the Displayport to another connection?
Yes. The Displayport can be converted to either a HDMI connection or VGA connection with an adapter. A Displayport to HDMI adapter or Displayport to VGA adapter are typically the most common adapters to convert Displayport for video. Can the HDMI port be converted to a Displayport connection?
No. The technology behind the Displayport is not bidirectional and can only convert the signal from Displayport to HDMI or VGA.

Is the dock Thunderbolt capable?
No. This dock does not have a Thunderbolt connection.

Is the dock self powered?
No. The dock requires the use of an A/C adapter.

How many USB ports does the dock have?
The dock has three USB 3.0 ports.

Can the dock charge small electronics via the USB port?
Yes. Two of the USB 3.0 ports have a charging output of 0.9A. The third USB 3.0 port is capable of battery charging at 1.5A.

Can an Ethernet cable be plugged into the dock instead of the laptop?
Yes. The dock can supply your laptop with an internet connection via USB and can connect at these speeds: 10Mbps/100Mbps/1Gbps.

Does this dock have a wi-fi option?
No. This dock is not wi-fi capable and only supports an Ethernet connection.

Does the dock have Bluetooth built into it?
No. The dock does not have the Bluetooth capability.

Can headphones be plugged into the dock?
Yes. The dock has a combo audio (headphone/microphone) jack on the front.

Can keyboards and mice be plugged into the USB ports on the dock and used?
Yes. The USB ports on the dock will perform the same as functions as if the USB device were plugged into your computer.
