Frequently asked questions on the product itself.
What are NEMA outlets?
NEMA connectors are power plugs and receptacles used for AC electricity in North America and other countries that use the standards set by the US National Electrical Manufacturers Association. Your household plugs have NEMA ratings.
Do I have NEMA 14-50 in my home?
If you don't have a NEMA 14-50 outlet in your home, consult an electrician to have one installed prior to using this product. Additionally, make sure the outlet is grounded.
What circuit breaker should I use with the 32 Amp EVSE?
It is recommended to use a 40 amp (or greater) circuit breaker with this unit.
Can I use a NEMA adapter to connect the EVSE to my outlet?
No. Due to the wiring for this product, connecting a NEMA adapter to the AxFAST 32 Amp EVSE will potentially damage the unit.
Is the AxFAST EVSE a rechargeable battery or power bank for electric vehicles?
No, this is NOT a battery pack/power bank for electric vehicles. The charger has to be plugged into a wall outlet for power; it does not contain a rechargeable battery.
Does this charger comes with an app that can "schedule" the charge?
No. The AxFAST 32 Amp EVSE is a "dummy charger" in the sense that it only charges the moment it is plugged into a vehicle.
The plug itself is warm to touch. Is this normal?
Yes. This is normal behavior for the EVSE when charging the vehicle.
Can I use an extension cord with this EVSE?
It is highly recommended NOT to connect an extension cord to the AxFAST 32 Amp EVSE. Doing so could potentially damage the unit.
How long is the charging cord?
The charging cord is 24.6ft long.

Q: The EVSE is not charging my vehicle, what happened?
A:If the AxFAST 32 Amp EVSE is not charging your vehicle, please check the indicator light chart (found on page 11 of the user manual) to verify what type of error it is (based on the lights showing on the EVSE).
Q: The latch on the charging couplet broke off, is there any way to get another one?
A: The latch is built into the charging couplet, which in turn is built into the EVSE. If the latch is broken, you would have to request a replacement for the EVSE. It is not recommended to keep using the unit (even if it is able to charge) as it may affect charging effectiveness.
Q: The latch on the charging couplet is not locking into my car. What should I do?
A: If the latch on the charging couplet is not locked when plugged into your car, contact customer support for a replacement unit.
Q: I noticed that while the EVSE is not charging the vehicle, the fault light will periodically flash yellow then turn off. Is there something wrong with the charger?
A: The EVSE line of chargers is designed to accept a certain amount of voltage with very little room for voltage fluctuation. From time to time, the charger itself will perform a self test to check for voltage levels (even when not in use). The reboot issue in this case is caused by an internal power communication error with the power source -- hence the power and fault lights being on even when not in use. There is no hazardous risk otherwise. A hard reset (unplugging then plugging in the charger) will fix the lighting issue.
Q: Can this charger charge my vehicle?
A: The AxFAST 32 Amp EVSE can charge all electric vehicles that uses a SAE J1772 outlet. Compatible models include:
Tesla Model 3/S/X/Y
Chevrolet Volt/Bolt
Hyundai Ioniq/Kona
Volkswagen ID.4

Q: How fast can this EVSE charge my vehicle?
A:The charge time will depend on your vehicle model and the battery used. As a general rule, the AxFAST 32 Amp EVSE charges at 7.68kW at 32Amp/240V, which is faster than most models.
Q:I noticed that the EVSE is charging slower when the battery is above 80% charge. Is this normal?
A: As a safety precaution, the AxFAST 32 Amp EVSE charges at a slower rate above 80% charge; this is to prevent battery damage from charging.
