Does the dock support 4K?
Yes. One of the HDMI ports can support up to 4K (3840x2160).
How many monitors can be plugged in to the dock?
The dock can support up to two additional external monitors.
What connection types are supported for video?
The dock has two HDMI ports for video connections.
What resolutions does the dock support for external monitors?
- HDMI single display resolution: 1080p @ FHD

Can the dock allow my monitors to be extended on a Windows PC?
Yes. The default when first using the dock is mirrored. The display settings will need to be changed within the Windows Display settings for the extended mode.
Can the HDMI port be converted to a Displayport connection?
No. The technology behind the Displayport is not bidirectional and can only convert the signal from Displayport to HDMI or VGA.
Is the dock Thunderbolt capable?
No. This dock does not have a Thunderbolt connection.
Is the dock self powered?
No. The dock requires the use of an A/C adapter.
How many USB ports does the dock have?
The dock has three USB 3.0 ports.
Does this dock have a wi-fi option?
No. This dock is not wi-fi capable and only supports an Ethernet connection.
Does the dock have Bluetooth built into it?
The USB ports on the docking station have Bluetooth capability.
I am using a Bluetooth/wireless keyboard & mouse with this dock, why are they lagging?
If the wireless keyboard & mouse are lagging while connected to the dock, it might be a connection or interference issue. Refer to these resources (Windows, Mac) for additional information.
Can keyboards and mice be plugged into the USB ports on the dock and used?
Yes. The USB ports on the dock will perform the same as functions as if the USB device were plugged into your computer.

Q: Is this docking station compatible with my laptop?
A: The InstantView USB-C 4K Docking Station is compatible with the following:
- Windows 10 or above
- MacOS 10.6 - 11 for both Intel-based and Apple M1 CPU
- Android
- Chrome OS
- Google Pixel
Additionally, an USB-A or USB-C port on the laptop is needed to connect to the docking station.
Q: Is this dock compatible with my iPad/iPhone?
A: The InstantView USB-C 4K Docking Station is not compatible with iOS.
Q: Can this docking station charge my laptop?
A: The Accell Air InstantView USB-C dock has a built-in USB-C port with 87W power delivery, which can charge the laptop while plugged in to the dock.
Q: How do I connect my laptop and monitors to this docking station?
A: To set up the docking station:
- Use the built-in USB C cable to connect the laptop to the docking station.
- Connect the monitors to the HDMI ports on the back of the docking station.
Q: Do I have to go online and download any necessary drivers?

Q: I set up the dock but I don’t see the InstantView notification. Where is it?
A: If you don’t see an InstantView notification, you can also find the folder on the desktop. You can also find the InstantView folder in File Explorer (Windows) or Finder (Mac).

Q: How do I update Instantview?
A: If InstantView is not up to date:
- Right click on the Instantview icon at the taskbar.

- Check the Auto Update option.

- Select Remove Application.
- Unplug and replug the dock.
- Run Instantview and check the version number on the bottom right corner.
Q: How do I set up extended mode with my external monitors?
A: To enable extended mode, you would need to install optional drivers in InstantView. This option can be found in the InstantView UI.

Q: [Windows] I have two external monitors along with the laptop monitor. Am I able to mirror all 3 displays?
A: Because of recent Windows updates, Windows can only duplicate up to 2 displays (regardless of using other external devices). To get the 3rd display to mirror the other two, you would have to either use a third-party software or configure graphics card settings, if possible.
Q: I want to use the docking station with my laptop lid closed, how would I do that?
Windows:
- Right-click on the battery icon (lower right)
- Select Power Options.

- Select Choose what closing the lid does.

- Select Do Nothing on the dropdown menu by When I close the lid x Plugged in.

- Click on Save Changes.
- Make sure the laptop is plugged in to an external power source (charging).
Mac (Clamshell mode):
- Make sure the Mac is plugged in to an external power source (charging).
- Close the lid.
Q: How do I mirror/extend my monitors?
Windows:
- Go to Display Settings.

- Scroll down until you reach Multiple displays.

- Select the desired monitor settings using the dropdown.
Mac
- Go to System Preferences.
- Click on Displays.

- Click on Arrangement.
- Check or uncheck the box to toggle between extended and mirror mode.
Q: How do I change resolution settings on my monitors?
Windows:
- Go to Display Settings.
- Click on the Display resolution dropdown to edit resolution settings.
Mac:
- Go to System Preferences.
- Click on Displays.

- Click on Display.

- Select Scaled under Resolution.
- If you see icons instead of resolution numbers, hold the Option key and click on Scaled at the same time.
- Select the desired resolution.
Q: My InstantView is not booting up for some reason. Is there something wrong with the driver?
Windows:
- Unplug the docking station.
- Open Control Panel.
- Select Programs and Features.

- Find and uninstall Silicon Motion USB Display Driver.
- Download the latest InstantView Windows driver here.

- Follow the on-screen instructions to install the driver.
- Plug in the docking station.
Mac:
- Open the InstantView folder.

- Right click on macOS InstantView and select Show Package Contents.

- Go to Contents --> MacOS --> MacOS InstantView.

- Run macOS InstantView.
- A terminal window will appear and perform a clean reboot. You may close the terminal window as soon as you see the “Process completed” prompt.
Q: I just finished installing the docking station and my laptop is hooked up, but the monitor(s) are not showing anything. What did I miss?
A: Depending on the OS:
Windows:
- Make sure all the connections are secure; unplug and plug if needed.
- Check if the docking station itself is working (power light is on, USB ports are working)
- Make sure the monitor itself is turned on.
- If your laptop has a HDMI port, connect your laptop to that port.
If the monitor(s) still show nothing, contact support.
Mac
A: Make sure to check if screen recording is enabled for InstantView.
- Go to System Preferences.
- Click on Security & Privacy.
- Click on Privacy.
- Scroll down on the left list and select Screen Recording.

- Check if InstantView is listed and checked.
- Click on the lock (located at the lower left hand corner)

- Exit System Preferences.
- Boot up InstantView.
Q: [Windows] My ethernet port doesn’t seem to work. How do I go about fixing it?
A: Make sure both the InstantView version and Realtek Driver are up to date.
To check the Realtek driver:
- Make sure the docking station is plugged into the laptop.
- Go to Device Manager.
- Click on Network Adapters.
- Select Realtek USB GBE Family Controller.

- Click on the Driver tab. The driver version should be listed.
To update the Realtek driver for Windows:
- Go to the RealTek USB downloads page.
- Select the Win10 Auto Installation Program (SId:1152921505693333911) under the Windows section.

- Click on the download icon on the left.
- Enter your email address in the field.
- Click on Download File.
- Unzip the installer file.
- Follow the on-screen instructions on the installer.
